Modify this review within a week if anything changes. Also, it says I eat too little.
I thought I was overweight, but this game says I'm on the borderline. I thought it was because of my exercise style that I was overweight, so I started exercising more.
I'm a 21 year old female. I haven't tried this new tip, but it says I'm gaining 4 ibs daily just because I eat more at night than in the morning.
However, it says that my exercising and metabolism and everything is at 100%. However, it says I need to start eating in the morning instead of at night and that is why I became overweight.
So, I'm going to make the switch and see what happens. However, once I save up money I'm also planning on getting a few other exercise games to try to help with the process.
I was upset at first when I got it because the pedometer that comes with it only interfaces with the DS not the DSi that I got for Christmas. Since I got the game I have stepped up my volunteering to 4-5 days a week. This game gives you challenges to accomplish and check off each day, like walk up 10 flights of stairs, walk 2000 steps more than usual, make a list of necessary grocery items and carry it with you. I make list and I hate for unaccomplished task to stay on my list. I got this little game and thought "what the hell, i'll give it a go". I just love it. I have been sedimentary for many months and started volunteering in September one day a week. A lot of my weight is from steroids, but I DO NOT have a naturally high metabolism.
That being said, this little game really makes you aware of how much food you're eating, how much you're moving and the little games on there are awesome. Here's my disclaimer about the extreme weightloss. I've had it for 3 weeks and have lost 23 pounds. When I volunteer I'm on my feet most of the time and moving around so THIS also contributes to my loss. I thought the game was going to be totally useless but it will let you enter in your number of steps manually. I've had cancer 3 times. I've learned a lot and seem to learn something new every day. Can't wait to see how far I can go.
Makes it hard to exercise with the pedometer on. The bottom rubber protection comes off, and the battery and battery holder fall out.
However, the pedometer is a problem for me. This game is really great.
When it falls off, it falls apart. First, being a woman and not always wearing a belt, the pedometer does not stay well on a waistband when moving around.
It especially can't hold on when standing from a sitting position or getting out of the car. All data is lost at this point.
I'm now trying scotch tape to see if I can get the battery to stay in.My Weight Loss Coach
I bought this for my DSI. If I return it, I have to pay for return shipping and I won't get the shipping I paid for back and I will get a prorated credit due to the game being opened. When I got it, I opened it and found that the Pedometer doesn't work with the DSI. I tried to utilize the other aspects of the game, but you can't do anything unless you plug in the pedometer. It would probably cost me more to return the game. Don't buy this if you have a DSI.
learned a few nutrition tricks, am still unlocking more tips. And worst of all--everyone could see it and would ask what that was on my hip-- or that it was getting ready to fall off. They motivated me to reach my goal even if I looked like a fool running down the block in the middle of the night just to reach my step quota for the day. Pros:Fun game, I lost a few pounds with in the first couple of weeks only because it got me to walk more. Also, I upgraded my DS lite to the DSi and I can no longer use the pedometer--not that I wanted to, but if you did, FYI it will NOT work with the DSi. It would slowly slip off when I was walking.
It kept getting caught on my arm rests at work and would fall off.
The stick figure on the scale is hilarious--when i inputted my weight the little gal just blew up like a balloon and broke the scale, that alone was an instant motivator LOL.
The daily food intake part of the program was just way off, it kept telling me I needed to eat more so I'm pretty sure it was set for a child's metabolism.
LOVED the mini challenges.
A couple of times, I actually had to back track to find it.
Pedometer enclosed made it easy to input steps walked.
Excellent if you are taking the 10,000 steps a day challengeCons: the pedometer was bulky & kept falling off.
If you buy this, you WILL need your own pedometer so you can track your walking more accurately & discretely.
This game should have been titled "My walking coach"--as this (so far) has been the majority of the game.
